•Intense and deep ruby red colored wine. On the nose, notes of pepper and black fruits are present. In the mouth, earthy, pepper and black cherry. Medium body and persistence.

The Story
Cabernet Sauvignon is important to Funckenhausen because it is still one of the great red varieties of the world, and it performs very well in the region. In 25 de Mayo, San Rafael, the vineyard has the sunlight, warmth, and climate that Cabernet needs to ripen properly while still keeping freshness in the finish.
The La Espera Cabernet Sauvignon is made as a more direct and drinkable expression of the variety. It comes mainly from sandy soils, with shorter macerations and lower fermentation temperatures than the Terroir's Signature wine. A portion has contact with oak, but the goal is to keep the wine focused on fresh fruit, ripe tannins, varietal identity and balance.
