The Story
The Terroir's Signature Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a deeper, more complex expression of the vineyard and its unique sense of place. Reflecting the interplay of soil, climate, and thoughtful vineyard management, this wine highlights the estate's diverse soil profiles through a carefully selected blend.
The fruit is sourced primarily from porous, stony soils and caliche-rich parcels, where naturally lower vine yields produce grapes with exceptional concentration, structure, and depth. A portion is also selected from deeper sandy-loam soils, harvested later and crafted with extended maceration to further enhance complexity and richness.
Compared with the regular Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is more mature, structured and persistent. It has more tannic volume and greater aging potential. It is an excellent example of the potential of San Rafael to produce serious, structured, but elegant and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon.
